(I posted this yesterday, but it seems like my post disappeared).

This weekend, I was able to use 62.216.18.38 to play RA1 with a friend of mine by going to Multiplayer Game : Internet and making up a username and password. This let us both in.

Now, when I try to do the same thing, I get a "Connection Timed Out" message after I get a "Logging In" and a "Please Wait.. Communicating with Westwood Online" message.

I read in another thread, that to play RA1, I must first create an account using a game that uses serials? Is this true? Why was I able to get in this weekend then?
