I drag and drop the dogicon.shp to the menu and click compact. It gives out an error.

I dunno. I open up XCC Mix editor(like in the instructions)I choose REDALERT.mix. it open a menu of other mix files like LOCAL.mix HIRES.mix etc. However these mix files don't open up.
