If you go into
c:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc

You should be able to find a file called "hosts"
Right mouse click and go to hosts Properties.
At the bottom of the tab you should see 3 check box fields.
Make sure that the "read-only" field does not have a check in it.

Somtime the adware will place a check in this box.

That should help your problem.
