I'm an architecture student from Denmark who never heard of voxels before the day before yesterday. I've tried to figure things out, but I could really need some help. My situation is this:

1: I'd like to be able to export a model (from 3dmax for example) as voxels, or a similar format.
2: I then wan't to change the coordinates of the voxels (according to some principles in my project), so the file should probably be a textfile.
3:And then import it back in to 3dmax (or another similar program)

If it's possible it would perfect if I could export an animation as voxels! is that possible?

I've tried the program 3ds2vxl, but I can't edit the code then. i've tried two scripts for 3dmax a "voxelizer" and a "voxelimporter". The voxelizer exports the file as a textfile which is very nice (I don't understand the code, but I guess I could learn), but it can't be imported back in to 3dmax even though it's unaltered!

I know there has been written a lot on the subject of 3ds and vxl already on the forum, but I haven't been able to find what I'm looking for yet. I couldn't find the 3ds->vxl converter on http://deezire.net/ as writen in another post. Is it different from the ones I've mentioned and would it be helpfull to me?

Does anyone know of other programs or know what I'm doing wrong or has any advise I would be very thankfull. After several days search without really getting anywhere I'm starting to get very frustrated
