> well... i agree.. i might sometimes post a few off topic posts.. but i'd rather see a busy forum than a dead one, which is what this forum all too often turns into.
Then this is a point where we differ in a fundamental manner : I prefer a place that is small, focused and with content then a place that is large, vast and with tons of redundant topics.
> how many 'relevant' (and i use the term lightly, this is the XCC forum, for XCC discussions, not general WW discussions), topic have their been in the past week? lets count.. about 7. and what are the topics... ra2 normals.. ra2 normals.. ra2 normals.. o wait.. ts normals.. ra2 normals...
I see your point..but you're wrong that there are only 7 interesting topics.
It is not because I don't reply to a topic that I don't consider it a "vallid" posting.
However, repetedly filling up replies with "???","!!!" or similar retared remarks do not qualify as valid...
> it looks to me like you need a place to go chit-chat too. perhaps an ra2 editing digest, like the ts one? perhaps it might be better to get together with the people who can help and sort some normals out, rather than kidnap a forum?
euh, kidnap a forum? You must be joking. This is the home page and forum of RA2's most important editing tools. That you'll find more technical chitchat, as you refer to, is obvious. I would expect that the main topics concern the XCC tools and modding in general...
> i'm not against you posting here, but i find it hypocritical that you can post several topics (all of the same general content, which is a no-no in the first place), and then complain when other people post other threads.
Wrong again.
It is not about how MUCH you post, but about how MUCH CRAP you post. Hell, if you have something interesting to say all day long, be my guest...You wont hear me complaining...
> and if your concerned about the bandwidth... it may be just my imagination, but text in general takes up less bandwidth than graphics (ie. smilies..), which i see you use ,and i dont.
Did it ever occure to you that the word "bandwith" was used in a different context then just the number of kbytes going through a wire?
> so, now, lets all be friends, and get along together. you can ignore what you see as 'irrelevant' posts, and i'll (continue!) not to invade 'relevant techicanl' posts. ok?
No...
There are more then enough RA2 related forums with general topics where you can play the frustrated teenager as much as you want.
There are however, very, very few RA2 related technical forums.
As moderator on the Eclipseforum (general modding forum), I do tolerate meaningless postings like yours, but I wouldn't here on the XCC forum.
But then again, i'm no moderator here either, so I have no other solution then to complain in public...
