I don't think ya'll should be arguing about this now, it really won't change a thing.
Will Vipr and Flyby are talking this WAY too seriusly then they should.
Generally, i don't agree with vipr that there should be UNIVERSAL RA2 EDITING RULES, will can't change his program anyway now so you can't be expecting him to make the program all over again just to change this matter.
Now because Will's old editor is the best to date, block by block people can use his (as flawed as you think so vipr) system, and 3d geometry ppl that don't need to use that sort of programs ANYWAY can use vipr's and if there are some cases of ppl needing to use both systems then I AM SURE THEY ARE SMART ENOUGH TO KNOW HOW TO CHANGE THE FLIPPING STATUS, Vipr, you just have to add that to the top of your readme, you're program can't be used without reading the readme anyway.

AFTER Vipr's program could do correct normals and either section editor or a new ( open sourced) one will have will editor's features THEN you could argue whether to make it a univesal way or not although i'd go with the first option.
