I don't know how well you you're entrenched into 3D, but you're making scrambled eggs here...
For LEGAL versions of 3dsmax, these are the following rules :
-3dsmax 2.x only works on NT4(certified)
-3dsmax 3.x works on both NT4(certified) and win2000 (certified) and it kinda works on W98/ME (not certified) Using it in combo winXP is asking for trouble...
-3dsmax 4.x works with win2000(certified) and XP pro(not yet certified)
W98/ME and XP home do not support multithreaded systems, hence it is pointless to have a dual cpu system with those OS'es.
As usual , if it ain't legal, you're on your own... :rolleyes:
