ok, i finally figured out myself. i found something out you might be interested in: the xcc mixer 1.19 does not handle shp file entries of type 1 properly. the first 16 bytes of image data (i assume you just skip them) are a redirection table into the original palette (some sort of indirect palette or call it whatever you want to). hope this helps
