> I have messed around with the 3ds2vxl convertor. I have been nothing but disappointed in my efforts. My colors where always distorted and screwed. Why does making your own voxels got to be so impossible? Anyways... someone made a 3ds file by the name of Rhino that went with the first version of 3ds2vxl... It converted perfectly... how in the hell did that happen? It just blows my mind... thing is I couldn't even view that 3ds file in wings.

> My desire for a future convertor would be one that converts Nendo files (ndo) into voxels.... thus ndo2vxl. That would kick major ass because Nendo is so easy to use and color objects... it would open the door for voxel creation. If you don't know what Nendo is... you should really try it out. Then try Wings 3D out.

are the colors completely wrong or a little off? because i remember once seeing a bug that would cause the palette to possibly not load at all in my program. it was related to the bug which said that a 3ds file was not found when really what actually happened was that the ini file was not found because i did not provide the path but only the file name becuase i thought not giving a path would make the program assume the path was the same as the exe's path. anyway now that i was told that that was not how things work i fixed that problem but completely forgot i had other files that needed loading the same way, namely the palette file. so i fixed that but i can't remember if i sent out a new version of my program after that. i think a temporary way around this problem is to run my program seperately and not through the front end.

anyway besides that, in case the palette is working, the colors are still going to be a bit off because of the fact that the palette is a fixed 8 bit palette and the exact colors you want are likely to not be there.

the colors could also look wrong in the game because the shading is not working properly because the normals of the voxels are still not unscrambled by any of us.

is there any info on the ndo file format?
