ok my procedural camouflage thing is almost ready but i need to make it so certain parts of models have the camouflage and other parts don't. i want to make it so artists put something in the 3ds file but the 3ds file should still be compatible with 3d studio. i was wondering, can texture names be written in the 3ds files without their extension? like for example if you have a texture called jungle_camouflage.bmp can you just have it written as jungle_camouflage in the 3ds file and 3d studio will still find it? i'm thinking of making my program override a texture of a certain name with my procedural camouflage.
