i got MSVC++.NET
it took about hour to install. no, the windows version of 3ds2vxl is not ready yet. i can't find the run button first of all. second of all i clicked on new project and there's already some cpp files in it and i don't remember putting any files in in the project, plus there's a few pages of code in those cpp files and i can't remember typing any code and besides i can't even understand that code so i'm sure i didn't type it. i don't know how to even make the hello world program. any tips? the hello world example in the manual is for a dos type exe and the way i was doing it in the school is the same way but i need to know how to do it in a windows exe.

in other news i've added the fresnel effect to the viewer of my program. that's where surfaces become more reflective the more at an angle you look at them. the calculation is extremely complicated and slow so i'm using a lookup table thingy. i'm getting ready to take a screenshot with the procedural camouflage so i can show you what it looks like. i would have done it sooner except nobody asked to see it. my enthusiasm is not so high lately.
