Any progress on the link issue? Perhaps you're following the standard, but if almost none of the browsers support the standard, then the browsers should change - but that's not feasible, so what about "/cgi-bin/forum.cgi?action=x&slot=y" format? It's shorter and should work in every browser (I think).
