> > > > > > > > > > it's unbelievable what assholes some people can be. there are people playing Renegade that wait until you get out of your vehicle to repair it and then they steal it and drive if off a cliff so it lands upside down and blows up. there are also assholes that shoot at your vehicle when you get out so that it gets damaged or they ram your vehicle against a wall and don't let you go or they park in the refinery's docking port, blocking the harvester from connecting to it and all this they do to you when they are on your team! how do you friggin kick people out in this game? nobody seemed to be able to do anything. we get so preoccupied figuring out how to get rid of an asshole that we lose the match. what a stupid game. it could be one of the best games if they spent five more minutes with the code.
> > > > > > > > > How would that prevent such 'assholes'?
> > > > > > > > well i was playing on a server of 20 people, 10 people per team and still nobody knew how to kick the asshole off. they should add a kick ability or if there is one then they should make it intuitive so it can be easy to figure out how to kick them.
> > > > > > > Maybe everybody should just read the manuals/readmes.
> > > > > > that's not good enough. if people have to read manuals/readmes to kick people then people will never get kicked. it's a fact of life; they have to make it easy. they will have to come up with a better system. unfortunately this seems to be a problem with many games.

> > > > > If instead of taking the time to write the manuals and readmes, they put in the code so that pressing 'K' would kick a player (which they may actually have done, but you don't know. Hey, why not check the manual, that might tell you!) then nobody would know that pressing 'K' kicked a player, and so they would all start complaining when they play with an 'asshole' and don't know how to get rid of them!
> > > > > > personally i don't see what's so hard. why can't they make a button on keyboard bring up a list of players names that says click on name to vote kick them off. and if some guy is being an asshole. you can send a message to everyone like "X is being an asshole, press K to kick them off" or something like that. most people don't bother with kicking people coz they can't understand how to kick them. this has got to stop. actually they should have a vote button and when you click on it you can first choose whether to vote on a map or a kick. that's like svencoop in halflife. i got lots of ideas how to make it easier than the way it is in most games now.
> > > > > Personally, I don't see what's so hard. Why can't you make the effort to read the manual and readmes. If you still don't have an answer, then you can complain, and you would be quite justified in doing so. Especially as you could also complaing about the lack of info in the manuals and readmes.
> > > > > > i think people that make games have no idea what assholes there are coz they probably always play amongst themselves on their company LAN, so they probably don't bother much with the kick feature. well they should care a lot more because there are people apparently trying to sabotage their game's popularity by making the game unplayable for everyone.
> > > > > I think people that play games and don't read the manual have no idea what sort of info they might be missing out on.
> > > > > > > > and they should make it so we can communicate easier. i always have to ask a question several times because i miss the answer. the messages get bumped off the top by other things. don't they do something like other games where you pull the console down and can read a lot more messages than just 2 or 3.
> > > > > > > Yes, I agree. I have no idea what WS was thinking when they designed that.
> > > > Unfortunatly, there are many people that would takr advantage of such an option. With an option like that, the host would be kiking people off like crazy just because they keep hilling him/her. True there are many things that are farfeched in renegade. For instance, a flame tank vs a mammoth tank in Tiberian dawn would be no match. the mammoth would always win. In renegade, based on T.D, the flame tank will almost ALWAYS win. The voting thing is recommended, but dont expect people to be as supportive. Remember, online theres always an "asshole" in a game. I dont think Westwood wants complains rushing in on ppl being booted unfairly by the other team....
> > > no, only people on the same team as the asshole can kick them off. and a few people need to vote them off for them to be kicked.
> > Well that certainly would make sense. In a team-based game, it's the team as a whole that should make the decision, the opponents shouldn't have a say in the matter.
> you don't get in much do you. that's how it is in every other game i know of.
No I don't. But that's what I'm trying to say... it's a good system, so Renegade should use it.
