well i took a look at all the things to go with generals and omw.
they still called ini files but hey they dont have the [ ] and more but i think that is easy to fix in loading it into a editor i rethought my idea of a auto sort of editor and realised it would be beter to make a manual editor with say a treeview on the side listing all sections eg
weapons
. weapon 1
. weapon 2
sort of like a book mark thing and then just jump to the place in the ini by clicking the link.
Generals have a few million options scripts if u will for every thing even the menus have scripts i tried to change the menus around in a effort to play lan or single player but when u click play it dont work but hey u have to start some where... a few things i liked was the option to take the trees out, the wire fame mode pitty the window mode causes the game to crash as well if u didnt know the battle going on in the main menu is actually a map for intrest sake if u didnt know and you can turn it off and a image of is replaced the battle... the ini files and scripts and the menu files u can do a lot with. it still over writes the values if u stick the file inthe dir so by opening say mainmenu you can enable the green dot with the real time clock and the upde maps button... the single player menu has options for solo or multiplayer and a easy medium or hard ememy... 1 hell of a lot of smiley faces as well as a lot of things have been diabled for the beta there is even scripts for the ingame menus as well as the bars so modding generals looks to be a big task with you being able to chnage waht ever u like except for the actuall engine code but i got a feeling they wont releace that :P.
ooh shit i just read this
