Discussions about how to do it never hurt. It's just that my real 'understanding' of normals is a bit limited - I never used the Voxel Editor myself that much, to know what the exact effects are.
The idea behind a auto-normaliser would be:
from a direction and at a certain angle, you increase the normal index? Ex: when going from front side (straight), every voxel-box that faces that direction is made a little bit lighter?
Or am I way off track? :)
