which is why the second one was written

the first voxel editor was a quick-fix. It had a lot of design limitations written into it from the start, and as new features were added it became increasingly more difficult to keep it working cleanly.

whatever people say about the interface, under the bonnet the new section editor is a much superior beast.

incidently, the new layout was the result of brainstorming on this very forum by the users, yet now people dislike the new interface? geez
